Can I use Joomla?

Postby Blackboy on Tue Jan 13, 2009 9:14 pm

I just purchased web hosting and have decided to use Joomla. I'm new to all of this so please forgive me if these questions are dumb. If I create anything with Joomla, should I just FTP it to my page? Is there a one click installation of Joomla? I also want to create a blog. I want to use wordpress or b2evol. Is there a one click installation of either of those?

I created a webpage with a template. Can I go in and change the template? More than just the banner and logo?

Hello and welcome,

There is a "One Click" installation of Wordpress, Joomla!, b2Evolution, etc in cPanel filed under the "Fantastico De Luxe" option. That contains a list of all the software you can install via "One Click". Simply choose the software you want to install then choose "New Installation" It will prompt you for some data once that is complete it will install the software wherever you direct it to.

as far as logo and content is concerned you will need to add templates or use ones already included in joomla. but if you want to add your own logo you will need to edit template files or get a custom template created or at least download one and change the logo file to match yours. keep in mind that your logo may not fit right with the site. if you need help with this just PM me and i can give you some excellent guides to using joomla and themes for joomla.

good luck with your new site
